Checking Flight Availability

Flight Availability

The term itinerary refers to all the origin, destination, and intermediate points in a trip. Each portion of the itinerary is called a segment. As an example consider the following trip:

1.  ATL-SFO
2. SFO- ATL

The above example includes two flight segments.

To obtain an availability  display, the agent must input the date of travel and the origin and destination points.

Inputting dates
If a date is not specified, the system will only display schedules starting with the current day.
example: 16JUL   or 7MAR  or 07MAR

Displaying Availability:

The entry code for flight availability is the digit 1. This entry has the following format:

1<Date><City Pair><Departure Time>

Example
120MARATLSFO11A

 If a city is served by multiple airports, typing the city code will display flights for all the airports in the metropolitan area., whereas airport codes will display only flights for that airport.

RETURN AVAILABILITY

After flight availability has been obtained, the following entry can be used to check return availability

1R<Return Date><Departure Time>

Example
1R23JUL8P

The above entry will display return flights for 23 July at about 5PM.

Additional Availabilty

In many cases, more flights exist that can be displayed on one screen. To display additional flights,, the following entry can be used:

To go back to the original availability use the following display

1*OA

Changing the time or Date
After you have requested at a certain time and date you can change the date or time with the following entry

To change time
1*<Alternate time>
1*5P

To change date
1<Alternate date>
120JUL

Changing the Departure or Arrival Point

The entry 1*D can be used to change the departure point
Example 1*DOAK
The example above will change the departure point to Oakland

Similarly 1*A will change the arrival point
Example 1*ACHI
The example above will change the arrival point to Chicago.

Specifying a Connecting Point

The connecting point is entered at the end of the avalability entry
Example
116JULSFOPAR8ALHR
The above entry will display availability for July 16th from San Francisco to Paris at about 8am connecting at London Heathrow.
